COUNTRYSIDE GYMNASTICS STAFF

Maryln Hester, Owner

Maryln is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Maryln was a teacher in the Cumberland County school system for 20 years. She was teacher of the year for Fayetteville City Schools and was also Prevocational Teacher of the Year for the state of North Carolina. Upon retiring, she joined her husband, Jack, in the running of CountrySide. She is a Level 9 certified judge and testing for Level 10. Maryln and her husband Jack have two children, Jackie and Shawna, two grandchildren Abigail and Travis Jr. and are expecting two more.

Frank Toledo, Head Coach

Frank was in the army for 22 years. He retired to Raeford as a 1st sergeant in 2000. Frank competed in high school and college and was captain of his College of New York team. He worked as a financial planner before coming to CountrySide in 2002.

Jean Marie Baker, Assistant Head Coach

Jean Marie trained in Ohio and began coaching in her gym at the age of 15. She has taught Parent and Me through Optionals and is currently in charge of the Compulsory Program. Jean is an advanced personal trainer and has attended the University of Tampa as well as the University of Maryland. She is currently working to finish her degree in the physical science field. Jean loves the sport of gymnastics and plans to continue coaching and working in this field in the future. Jean has coached gymnastics for the last nine years in Ohio, Florida and in Okinawa, Japan before she and her husband moved to Fayetteville in July 2003. She married her husband, Jay, in 2000 and they have three “children”, two American Staffordshires Killian and Shadow, and a chocolate Labrador named Bear.

Jacquelyn Stroud, Class and Team Coach

Jackie loves the sport of gymnastics and trained as a gymnast through Level 8 and began coaching at the age of 15. She has coached many of the CountrySide champions including nationally competitive Level 9 and sixth place Beam champion Jorgette Simpson. She has coached all levels from Parent and Me through Optionals. She is a graduate of E. E. Smith High School and has attended Winston-Salem State and Fayetteville State Universities. Jackie married her husband, Travis, in 2001. The couple has two children, Abigail and Travis Jr. and are expecting a third.

Candice Moody, Office Manager

Candice began her career at CountrySide as a gymnast at the age of 14. She worked her way through the levels quickly and became a member of our competitive team where she competed for two years and was the Level 5 Vault State Champion. She is a 1993 graduate of E. E. Smith High School and a 1997 graduate from Methodist College with a degree in Fine Arts Management. She returned to the gym and has been at CountrySide as the office manager since November 1997. Candice uses her management skills to help keep the office and the gym running smoothly. She provides coaching assistance if needed and has worked with the Level 5 team. Candice married her husband Charles in 2001.
